State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA)

Utah is a member of the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA). 黑料专区 of Health Professions (黑料专区) participates in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements and abides by established standards for offering post-secondary distance education in all member states.

SARA is an agreement among member states, districts, and territories that establish comparable national standards for interstate offerings of postsecondary distance education courses and programs. State authorization is a legal term for a university鈥檚 compliance with individual statues and regulations in each state in which it operates, has a physical presence, or engages in education services and programs.

State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA)

Utah is a member of the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA). 黑料专区 of Health Professions (黑料专区) participates in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements and abides by established standards for offering postsecondary distance education in all member states. As of October 2024, 黑料专区 is on Provisional Status, which means SARA will have additional oversight of 黑料专区鈥檚 membership and participation in SARA. No 黑料专区 student should be affected during this provisional status.

黑料专区 was placed on provisional status due to our calculated Federal Financial Responsibility Composite Score. SARA uses the composite score when renewing institutional membership. If an institution鈥檚 score falls below a specific threshold, it will result in Provisional Status. 黑料专区鈥檚 composite score dropped most significantly due to changes in how the composite score is calculated. However, these changes did not affect 黑料专区鈥檚 overall operations, academic excellence, or financial strength.

Student Consumer Complaints

听has jurisdiction over Utah SARA-approved institutions, including 黑料专区, in relation to non-instructional complaints. Students who have a complaint against 黑料专区 should first file a complaint with the institution by following the听complaint procedures. If 黑料专区 does not resolve the complaint, students may file a complaint with the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE) at听. USHE will only consider complaints that were previously unresolved by the institution and may refer a complaint to another agency for investigation.

There may be restrictions and additional state expectations in certain SARA and non-SARA states regarding professional licensure requirements. Each state has unique requirements and it鈥檚 important to verify the licensure requirements in your state.
