Dr. Brigitta Bowen Walker is an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association certified speech-language pathologist with extensive clinical experience across multiple rehabilitation settings, including inpatient rehabilitation, acute care, long-term care, home health, and outpatient rehabilitation. She has provided evaluation and treatment services within multidisciplinary environments for individuals with neurological disorders, head and neck cancer, cognitive-communication disorders, language disorders, voice disorders, fluency disorders, and dysphagia.

Dr. Walker independently performs complex patient-care procedures and is certified in Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT), VitalStim Therapy, and SPEAK OUT!® Therapy for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. She is proficient in conducting modified barium swallow studies (MBSS) and fiberoptic endoscopic evaluations of swallowing (FEES).

In addition to her clinical expertise, Dr. Walker has presented at local, state, and national conferences on topics related to dysphagia, voice, cognitive-communication disorders, oncology rehabilitation, and the integration of artificial intelligence in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD). She has delivered presentations on artificial intelligence in CSD at organizations and conferences including National Black Association for Speech-Language and Hearing (NBASLH), American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and Council of Academic Programs in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CAPCSD), with a focus on ethical AI integration, higher education, and clinical applications in speech-language pathology.

Dr. Walker has also served as an adjunct professor teaching dysphagia, cognitive-communication disorders, voice, and fluency. Her academic responsibilities have included syllabus development aligned with CAA standards, assignment design, grading, and student mentorship. She currently serves as Assistant Professor and Capstone Faculty in the Speech-Language Pathology Doctoral Program at ºÚÁÏרÇø of Health Professions, where she mentors doctoral scholars and supports capstone research development.
