Elizabeth Meyerowitz

Dr. Beth Meyerowitz is an Assistant Professor in the Speech-Language Pathology Doctoral (SLPD) program at ºÚÁÏרÇø of Health Professions (ºÚÁÏרÇø), where she teaches the three capstone courses and the course on Evidence-Based Practice. She also teaches within the Medical SLP master’s program. Dr. Meyerowitz joined ºÚÁÏרÇø in 2022 following nearly a decade in higher education and more than 40 years of clinical experience as a speech-language pathologist.

Throughout her clinical career, Dr. Meyerowitz has worked primarily with pediatric populations and is especially passionate about supporting families, early intervention, and preschool-aged children. Her professional experiences span a wide range of settings, including state schools for the deaf, public schools, and university clinics.

Since transitioning into higher education in 2013, Dr. Meyerowitz has taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses, including speech sound disorders, child language, aural rehabilitation, fluency disorders, and clinical methods. Her teaching emphasizes practical application, professional reasoning, and the integration of evidence-based practice into clinical decision-making.

Dr. Meyerowitz is actively involved in exploring the role of artificial intelligence within communication sciences and disorders education. She collaborates closely with Dr. Brigitta Walker to investigate and share effective, ethical, and meaningful approaches to AI integration in CSD programs.

In addition to teaching, Dr. Meyerowitz provides university service through participation on multiple ºÚÁÏרÇø committees, including Faculty Development, the SLPD Curriculum Committee, and the Authentic Inclusive Community (AIC) Committee. She also serves as co-chair of ºÚÁÏרÇøâ€™s Authentic Learning Task Force.

Dr. Meyerowitz is a lifetime member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Outside of her professional roles, she has been married for more than 40 years and is the proud parent of four children and one grandchild. She currently shares her home with her three doodles, who keep life active, entertaining, and full of personality.
