Erin Florkiewicz

PhD, LAT, ATC

Associate Professor

Headshot of Erin Florkiewicz

Dr. Erin Florkiewicz (formerly Miller) is an Associate Professor and Dissertation Process Administrator for the Doctor of Philosophy in Health Sciences (PhD) program. She earned her PhD in Health Science with a specialization in Athletic Training from ºÚÁÏרÇø of Health Professions, where she studied the biomechanics of military service members post-ACL reconstruction. She also holds a Master’s in Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Bachelor’s in Fitness and Wellness Leadership from SUNY Plattsburgh.

Dr. Florkiewicz has over 11 years of experience as an educator and researcher, including serving as an Associate Professor and Research Scientist at Baylor University’s Division 1 Sports Physical Therapy Fellowship at West Point. She has mentored over 40 students and fellows in completing terminal degrees and advancing their clinical careers. A respected expert in orthopedic and sports science research, she has authored more than 30 articles and recently received a grant to study wearable electromyography technology for improving lower-extremity neuromuscular activity after knee injuries.

Her research interests include orthopedics, military medicine, sports science, and running wearables, focusing on using biomedical technology for clinical decision-making and performance optimization post-injury. Dr. Florkiewicz’s contributions have earned her multiple awards, including the NATA Chuck Cramer Memorial Scholarship and recognition as a Military Health System Young Investigator Finalist.

Based in northern New Jersey, Dr. Florkiewicz enjoys spending time with her family, outdoor adventures, softball, and running.
