OD FOVDR

Assistant Professor

Dr. Nathaniel Jensen is the primary instructor for Pediatric Optometry, Binocular Vision, and Strabismus & Amblyopia courses. He grew up in Orem, Utah and earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Brigham Young University and later earned a Doctor of Optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. After optometry school, Dr. Jensen completed an optometric residency in Austin, Texas with emphasis in vision therapy, vision rehabilitation, and pediatric optometry through the Rosenberg School of Optometry at the University of the Incarnate Word. He is a fellow of the Optometric Vision Development and Rehabilitation Association and is associated with the International Sports Vision Association and the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association.  Dr. Jensen has specialized training in addressing conditions such as strabismus (eye turn), binocular vision and focusing dysfunctions, visual tracking or oculomotor problems, and learning-related visual perceptual and visual processing deficits. In treating these conditions, Dr. Jensen has seen lives change and patients’ potential for success soar as a result of unlocking deficient visual skills affected by developmental delay or by injury such as a concussion or stroke. Even people who don’t struggle with visual deficits can reach new levels of success through targeted training of visual skills to enhance performance in sports or other pursuits. Dr. Jensen is also an InfantSEE provider, dedicated to providing eye exams to children of all ages beginning as early as six months of age.
