Optometry Student Success and Retention Coordinator

Headshot of Riley Wilson

Riley Wilson is the Student Success & Retention Coordinator – College of Optometric Medicine. She meets with students at every stage between matriculation to graduation in order to inform them about University resources, improve their study habits, support them in their general wellness, and more. If you let her know what you’re dealing with, she will advocate for you throughout the formal procedures to get you the help you need and deserve. She graduated from BYU with a bachelor’s degree in Family Studies. Since then, Riley has worked with students around the world teaching study techniques, calming practices, self-confidence, etc. She is currently focused on developing holistic support systems for students that address all eight dimensions of wellness as outlined by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration. For her efforts, she has routinely been recognized for increasing retention rates at the educational institutions she has been a part of including VUS in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and BYU in Provo, Utah. When not at ºÚÁÏרÇø, Wilson can be found up in the beautiful Utah mountains hiking and hammocking, with friends playing dungeons & dragons, or dancing in her kitchen making her own custom ice cream flavors (she recommends chocolate fudge ice cream mixed with broken up pretzels and caramel sauce topped with whipped cream).
