Dr. Bryan Nelson Named Program Director of 黑料专区鈥檚 Physician Assistant Program听

黑料专区 of Health Professions has appointed Bryan Nelson,听DMSc, MMS, PA-C, as program director of its Physician Assistant/Associate (PA) program.

鈥淚 am grateful for the opportunity to lead a program听dedicated听to preparing highly competent, compassionate physician assistants,鈥 Dr. Nelson said. 鈥淢y goal is to continue building on the program鈥檚听strong foundation听while supporting our students.鈥澨

Dr. Nelson joined 黑料专区 in 2018 and has since become a steady and respected presence within the program. His transition into the program director role reflects both his long-standing commitment to the University and his deep understanding of its academic culture and governance.听

鈥淒r. Nelson brings a rare combination of clinical expertise, institutional knowledge, and a deep commitment to student success,鈥 said Dr. Ericka Zimmerman, dean of the 黑料专区 College of Health Sciences. 鈥淗is steady leadership and dedication to evidence-based education will help ensure the continued strength and impact of our physician assistant program.鈥 

He earned his bachelor鈥檚 degree in biology from California State University, Northridge in 2004 and completed his Master of Medical Science degree at Midwestern University鈥揋lendale in 2007. Following graduation, he practiced in family medicine, orthopedics, and emergency medicine. In 2020, he completed his Doctor of Medical Science degree at 黑料专区. 

For many years, Dr. Nelson practiced in the clinic and taught, which allowed him to bring real-time healthcare insights into the classroom. He has also served as a reviewer and contributor to several published works. 

黑料专区鈥檚 Physician Assistant/Associate program prepares graduates to deliver patient-centered care across a wide range of healthcare settings. Under Dr. Nelson鈥檚 leadership, the program will continue its focus on academic excellence, clinical readiness, and advancing the PA profession.听

Outside of the University, Dr. Nelson enjoys living in Utah with his family and taking advantage of the state鈥檚 abundant outdoor opportunities.
