Faculty and students at ºÚÁÏרÇø conduct research across a wide range of disciplines in the health sciences. Many of these studies invite voluntary participation from community members, students, and professionals.

By Project Type

  • Healthy Volunteers – Open to individuals without current health conditions who wish to contribute to research.
  • Health Sciences Education – Studies focused on teaching, learning, and training in health professions.
  • Speech-Language Pathology – Projects exploring communication, speech, and language interventions.


By Participation Format

  • In-Person – Conducted at ºÚÁÏרÇø clinics or designated off-site locations.
  • Online – Participate from home through surveys, interviews, or digital platforms.

Healthy Volunteers

Adults with Parkinson’s Disease who can wear an activity tracker and complete on line surveys

Adults 50-90 years old with or without Parkinson’s Disease who can walk, pedal a stationary bike, swallow foods and liquids w/o difficulty and follow single step instructions

SLPs 3 years or less of experience

OT students in their 2nd term or beyond

Children 7-10 years old diagnosed with a stuttering disorder

Hispanic Men, genitourinary cancer survivors

18-65 Physical Therapists

Adults in the Provo UT area. Complete eye exam and provide tear, saliva, and/or urine samples.

Parents of toddlers in India

SLP Clinical Fellows

14-17 yo female athletes in the Rockville MD area. Complete short (30 min, 4x a week) or long (60 min, 2x a week) training

Lactating women

Health Sciences Education

Athletic trainers who work with dancers. Complete an online survey.

Faculty in entry level occupational therapy programs. Virtual interview.

Speech-Language Pathology

Adults with Parkinson’s Disease. Questionnaire and swallowing evaluation at the Voice and Swallowing Lab Center of Communication Disorders

Adults with myasthenia gravis in the Bay area, CA. Home exercise program for breathing.

Children, 3-7, with diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, tantrum behavior, fewer than 50 words, and 3-12 months of AAC exsposure

Novice SLPs with with 3 years or less experience conducing MBSSs. One on one online mentoring, customized for your needs

Adult (25-65 years old) therapists with a master’s degree, working in post-acute rehabilitation. Complete mindfulness exercises using the “Happier” app for 10-15 minutes a day ofr 5-10 days and online surveys.

3-5 year old Spanish speakers in the Houston TX area learning English at home or in the community. Storybook reading in your home.

Niños bilingües de habla español-inglés de 3 a 5 años que tienen un impedimento del lenguaje. Participe en un estudio de hasta seis semanas con cuatro sesiones de terapia individuales utilizando lectura dialógica, una intervención de lectura de libros de cuentos compartida.

Adults 55-85 years old with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease
